FAQs
Is it ok to use store-bought chemical drain cleaners for my clogged drains?
We highly recommend unclogging drains with natural solutions such as vinegar and baking soda, before you resort to chemical drain cleaners. However if natural solutions do not do the trick, a chemical drain cleaner is a very affordable way to fix a clogged drain. We recommend you use caution with these however, as they contain acids that can be seriously harmful to your skin. If pouring this down your drain still fails to fix the problem, you will need a plumber as the issue will require professional plumbing help. My sump pump is overflowing, how do I deal with the excess flow?
The first thing to check is that your sump pump’s power supply is not compromised. As that will cause the sump pump to stop working and will result in flooding. Gunk and small objects in the basin of the pump can also result in an overflow. If neither of these seems to be the case it is likely the result of faulty parts within the sump pump itself, in which case you will need a plumber to advise you on the best sump pump to purchase. And to help you install it if need be. The shower doesn’t start when I pull the diverter on my bathtub faucet?
First step in fixing a broken shower is to check the shower head. If this is faulty you will need a shower head replacement. Make sure to check the diverter as well within the faucet as this could If this is not the case then you may need to replace the bathtub faucet, or have an emergency plumber check the water pipes. |
My sink is no longer flowing as strongly as it used to, what do I do?
Low flow kitchen faucet usually means you have a clogged sink faucet. Or there could be clogged/damaged water pipes within your home. Make sure the inside of the faucet is cleaned (behind the filter is where most gunk is found), and if that still does not work consult a plumber immediately. Flooding the valves can result in an explosion and result in an even bigger plumbing emergency, so we recommend you to be cautious if you attempt to remedy this on your own. Often the easiest way is simply to try and get a faucet replacement, and have that installed in place of the old faucet.
Why are the pipes under my kitchen sink coming loose?
This is likely an issue of faulty bolts, nuts, and washers having been used in construction for your water pipes. Consult a plumber to see what kind of new parts you will require to solve this issue. Why isn’t my dishwasher draining?
The most likely scenario is that you have a clogged drain, in this case we only recommend natural solutions such as vinegar and baking soda to unclog the drain. First pour the solution into the bottom of your appliance, then pour in boiling water to break up any potential clogs. This can also be caused by a clogged sink, so we recommend you check that as well. |
